Pillar 3: Boardroom Accountability and Combined Assurance Solution

  

Some jurisdictions talk about a Senior Manager's Regime others talk about the appointment and responsibilities of Key Individuals. At TOSMS we cover the accountabilities of the board and executive team through a multi-pronged approach.

 

Firstly, the underlying philosophy that our approach is based on is one that dates back to the early work done by Edward Deming with the Japanese automobile industry post WW2 on the subject of quality manufacturing. Once again, this builds on the engineering principles of our founder. The concepts of continuous improvement, the price of non-conformance and the goal of zero defects are built into our preventative maintenance approach.

This translates into the identification of what we call Governance Controllers that are at various levels in the organisation from the boardoom down and have pre-defined Automated Standard Compliance Procedures that define the preventative maintenance routines that must be carried out to ensure that the business controls that drive operating models are working properly. There are design and operational effectiveness measures with feedback attestations for providing the required assurance at the various levels across the organisation.

These slot into our Three Lines of Assurance compliance model and, along with the management of governance controller levels of proficiency through training and development plans that are monitored, make up the various automated functions of this pillar. See the overview provided below.
